this personalized service (limited and selective).
You
provide the photos and content, I'll design the website on
your or my host account (see bottom of page). Presentation
sites only - no e-commerce sites or form services offered.
Custom designed websites
and future maintenance costs are charged at a flat rate of
$30 per hour. Feel free to contact me for an estimate.

About Domains and Hosts
To have your site viewable on
the Internet, you need to have both a registered domain name
and your files hosted on a web server. This can be done in
one of two ways:
For Beginners
I can setup your
hosting service on my reseller account and register the domain
name of your choice. With this option, no direct involvement
or technical knowledge is required on your part. I administer
the site, perform all site maintenance, do all of the setup
and renewals, and pay the monthly fees to the hosting service.
You are billed monthly or annually for this service through
me. This option is best if you are a web novice.
For Advanced Users
The other option
is for you to set up, register, and control your own hosting
account. You register the domain name and pay the monthly
hosting and registration fees to the hosting company of your
choice. Once I build the site on your host's server, you
have complete control over it, including editing and future
maintenance. This option is best if you have experience with
building web sites, including using html editors, image editors,
FTP upload programs, CGI scripts, and SQL databases.
Hosting Services:
If
you choose to host your own site, there are literally thousands
of domain registrars and hosting companies to choose from
and it can be confusing. I have chosen to use MicFo to host
this site, but can also recommend HostMonster or GoDaddy
as sites that offer decent services at a reasonable price.Once
you have a domain and host, anyone can design, build, and
upload your site for you. When researching hosts for an artist
site, keep in mind that 100 MB disk and 5 GB bandwidth is
more than you will ever use so buying unlimited storaged
space and bandwidth, etc. is pretty useless.
