Hi, I'm back in town and it looks like the forum has been busy - I need to do some catching up. Thank you so much Stuart and Tamara for stepping in and answering posts so thoroughly. You guys are life savers.
I did finally break down and just bought a tiny notebook that I can take with me on the road next time. It is fantastic - an Acer Aspire One 10 inch notebook. 2 pounds, 1GB memory, 120GB hard drive, XP system and wireless connection - all for only $350. Can't beat that.

Anyway....getting back on track here..

I wanted to share this latest works page from fellow sculptor Christian Hanson. I think these are awesome (look at the October and November faces in Wed clay).
Christian has been working in FX for a long while and is trying to break into custom portrait work. I'd say he could do that with no problem! Unfortunately, one of the first clients that has contacted him is that same nut-case from Mexico that I had the misfortune of "working" for several years back. Hopefully, I saved him a year or more of frustrations by warning him about that "job".

Hi Heidi,
this guys got great skills, have to say I hate all the gore stuff though. Not because I'm squeamish, but because it de-sensitises people. Like freak shows in the last century reduced human beings to objects.
Its one of the reasons I decided I didn't want to trod the path of work in special FX.
probably not a popular answer - just my opinion though. I hope he uses his skills for portraiture and leaves the dross behind.
Glad you saved him from the real monsters - (that client!) Smile
