These few photos were taken of some of the pieces at the annual exhibition of the Society of Portrait Sculptors in London this week.

Stuartís superb half size portrait of Harry Patch, I particularly liked the patination and detail and didnít fully realise how small the portrait was until I saw it.

A striking portrait of Mercy Kagia by David Klein

Anita Drewes by her daughter Nanna Drewes Brondum in plaster, I liked the surface texture of small rolls.

A posthumous portrait of a neighbour Roly Boissenvain by Willow Legge

The winner of the Tiranti Prize ( art material suppliers) Ė Nino by Guy Haddon-Grant

There were a wide range of interpretations and styles on display as well as materials ranging from plaster to wood, wax with plaster, terracotta and bronze. Patinations and finishes included acrylic paints, wood stains, powder coating amongst others. Altogether a worthwhile visit!

PS - My thanks to Stuart for agreeing to this post.

Best regards

Phil

Thanks Phil!
I'd so wished to be there but family concerns made it not possible.

Thanks for posting these photos Phil - they are wonderful!
I do like that patina on your Harry Patch Stuart. Very nice indeed. I also hadn't seen the profile, which is a real treat to behold.
